An entire quarter is taking shape in Darmstadt's Lincoln Estate: 274 apartments in varying sizes, built together with the City of Darmstadt and the Hessian Ministry of Economics, Energy, Transport, Housing and Rural Affairs. The mix of sizes is deliberate — it is meant to produce a balanced neighbourhood rather than a monoculture.

Every building uses the patented system, and here 1D, 2D and 3D elements come together in one quarter for the first time: manufactured to millimetre precision in the factory, merely assembled on site. That shortens the build sequence considerably and cuts both waste and cost — in the current market, the precondition for costing a project of this size reliably at all.

The quarter meets the KfW 40 energy standard and carries QNG and DGNB certification across all life-cycle phases. Heavy insulation and efficient building services allow CO₂-free operation, and emissions during construction are substantially lower too. The modules remain fully demountable and reusable.

Generous green space sits between the buildings and car-free zones shape the paths. The apartments are finished to a high standard and full of daylight, with an underground car park and barrier-free access throughout — quiet living, with the city centre close by.
